Waiting On Wednesday #2

Waiting On Wednesday is a meme hosted by Breaking The Spine where we share a book each week of an upcoming release we are eagerly anticipating.

My Super Sweet Sixteenth Century

On the precipice of her sixteenth birthday, the last thing lone wolf Cat Crawford wants is an extravagant gala thrown by her bubbly stepmother and well-meaning father. So even though Cat knows the family’s trip to Florence, Italy, is a peace offering, she embraces the magical city and all it offers. But when her curiosity leads her to an unusual gypsy tent, she exits . . . right into Renaissance Firenze.

Thrust into the sixteenth century armed with only a backpack full of contraband future items, Cat joins up with her ancestors, the sweet Alessandra and protective Cipriano, and soon falls for the gorgeous aspiring artist Lorenzo. But when the much-older Niccolo starts sniffing around, Cat realizes that an unwanted birthday party is nothing compared to an unwanted suitor full of creeptastic amore.

Can she find her way back to modern times before her Italian adventure turns into an Italian forever?

I love the sound of this! I have only really read one or two time travel novels (both middle grade books) so I am interested to see what this one will be like.

Publication Date: 11th September 2012

Which upcoming release are you desperate for this week?

Hmm, i don't usually read time travel books, but this one looks quite good. And, in response to the comment you left on my blog, yeah you really should read some of Meg Rosoff's books! I recommend How I Live Now if you haven't already read it. It is one of my all-time faves EVER. It's excellent in every way.

Would you maybe consider entering my writing competition? If not it's no big deal, but i'd really be very grateful if you would as getting very few entries is exceedingly embarassing! :L Thanks (:

This sounds awesome! And I want to go to Florence so bad, it sounds so beautiful there.<3 That cover would be enough to draw me in; it's not a favourite of mine, but the backpack makes it look like such a fun book!

I hope you get to read this soon, Zoe.(:
