A new e-book has been released on Fiction Express. I enjoyed the last four books and the journey it took to reach the final eleventh chapter. They are over now, and a new book has taken it's place - Rémy Brunel and the Ocean of Light by Sharon Gosling.
If you are not aware of the website, it is a e-fiction site where each chapter is released every Friday. When you have read that chapter, you can vote to what happens next! The first chapter is for free, and the next ten chapters are from 59p. I recommend the site 100% and I suggest you check out the brilliant books they have on offer.
Anyway, here is my review of chapter one:
Blurb from FE:
No-one performs on the circus trapeze like sixteen-year-old Rémy Brunel. But when the circus closes for the night, Rémy leads another life, as a cat burglar and jewel thief. Forced by the evil circus owner Gustave to attempt the theft of one of the world's most valuable diamonds, Rémy thinks it will be just another heist, but when she meets determined young detective Thaddeus Rec, her life changes forever. Will Thaddeus manage to rescue the jewel from Rémy’s nimble fingers? Or is it really Rémy that he needs to save?
When I first heard about this book, I immediately was intrigued. It sounds mysterious, exciting and full of anticipation. The cover is interesting too, it gives more of a feel to it. I was hooked in only the first couple of sentences and I wanted to know more about Rémy and her life. She is a young trapeze artist who also has a separate life of crime. Gustave wants her to steal a valuable jewel, The Ocean Of Light, from the Tower of London. She doesn't hesitate to try, and I can see why. Despite knowing little about his character, I think if she fails Remy will suffer concequences. Another incident involves a man, Thaddeus, who is also involved with the Tower of London. I liked how they link together and the ending suggests that there will be more twists and turns to come....
The next chapter and final voting closes on the 25th of July, so you have plenty of time if you haven't had chance yet! I propose that you do check this out, it is really worth reading!
